For those people who love Cantonese cuisine, Dim Sum is definitely "a must eat" item in the menu. Many overseas Chinese who living in foreign countries, especially from the Southern region, Dim sum is carrying a very special meaning to them. It is a kind of cultures and practices that they will normally do in their home country. In Melbourne, I love to visit a Chinese restaurant called Golden Dragon Palace (金龙宫) for Dim Sum, about 30 minutes drive from the city centre. It is a well reputable Chinese restaurant in town. If you have a chance to visit Melbourne, you must give yourself a chance to dine in this restaurant, highly recommended.

对喜爱吃粤菜的人来说，点心是绝对不能被忽略的！很多在国外生活的华人，尤其来自南方的，更是对点心持有一种皮肉不离的情感。在墨尔本，我特别喜欢到一家中餐厅叫金龙宫(Golden Dragon Palace)吃点心，它离开市中心大概三十分钟的车程。它是一家很有名望的餐厅。如果你有机会到墨尔本游玩的话，不妨去品尝一番。

My A380 Experience with Singapore Airlines to Melbourne.

I guess many people have talked about this super jumbo airplane since its launch in many years ago. A380, by far, the largest commercial aircraft in the world, it contains two decks (upper deck and lower deck) and the jet body is wider as compared with other aircrafts, e.g. Boeing 747-400.

My A380 experience with SIA was amazing, especially the boarding moment, all the passengers need to ensure which deck they have been assigned to. According to my observation, all Suites cabin, it is located at the lower deck, for business class cabin, it is located at the upper deck of the aircraft, whereas for economy class, it is scattered at both decks.

While you are on board, you will greet by the world famous SIA icon - Singapore Girl. The stewardess are friendly and they are well-trained to serve everyone on board. Indeed, they are part of the SIA experience - A Great Way To Fly.

The seat design of the new economy class is very comfortable and it designed to provide more space and minimizes intrusion into one's personal space even as the passenger in front reclines. Guess what, a pillow and a piece of blanket are provided too, unlike those low-cost airlines, you need to bring it on you own or buy it on-the-spot during the flight.

On board, you will never get starve as the foods served by SIA are delicious. For drinks, SIA has a great list for you to choose, from red wine to beer, cocktail to soft drinks, coffee to tea, many varieties to select. One of the drinks you must try when you are on board SIA, is the world renowned cocktail, called Singapore Sling. It is a very refreshing drink and it tastes fantastic, highly recommended beverage.

A Lovely Paradise in Ipoh - The Banjaran Hotspring Retreat.

I have recently visited a 5-star luxury spa resort in my hometown. This spa resort called The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat. This luxury spa resort is not widely known among the locals in Malaysia. I don't really know about this little paradise until I saw the promotion spa package advertisement in the HSBC monthly e-Newsletter. To explore this place, I gave myself a chance and I decided to spend some time there. So I brought my mum together with me to have lunch there.

At first, I don't really believe that there is a high-standard spa resort hotel being set up in my hometown as Ipoh is not a major tourist spot in the country, unlike Langkawi Island, Penang, and Kuala Lumpur. The design of this spa resort hotel is unique and specially located at the hot-spring valley in Ipoh. This luxury spa resort hotel is indeed, manage by one of our top property developers in Malaysia, Sunway Group. The environment of the spa resort is well maintained and I find the quality of the services are close to the world resort hotel standard, truly amazing.

The Banjaran is a private place, it only allows its guests to enter the mansion. The security guards at the entrance will definitely check everyone's identity before entering the resort. So, please don't forget to make your reservation before visiting the place.

For my lunch at The Banjaran, I have ordered a mustard soup and a garden salad, whereas for my mum, she has ordered a pumpkin soup only and shared some of my salad. Before serving our orders, breads were being served as starter. The bread texture was tasty and it is hardly be found in the small city like Ipoh, cause most of the people who living in Ipoh are mostly Asian-food lovers, thus it is hard to find such breads in my hometown.

We didn't order much food for our lunch as we had an afternoon tea session with our relatives in a local "kopitiam". If you are a Malaysian food lover, like curry laksa, roast salted-chicken, kaya-butter toast, and white coffee, Ipoh is a best place to visit. Simply an irresistible place for nice food - Tropicana City Mall @ PJ

Is been a long time I never update my blog, due to my inflexible working hours. This year, however, I have promise myself, I must spare some time here to share my joy and happiness with all of you. Well, I am back.

Recently, my colleagues and I have set-up a promotion booth at Tropicana City Mall @ Petaling Jaya to promote our products and services. We spent a week there, restaurants in the mall are the only places for us to get our lunches and dinners.

If you are a food lover and prefer to dine at a "peaceful" place, I guess you should visit this shopping mall. I must say it is a good place to dine since this mall mainly cater for the neighborhoods. Unlike the big shopping malls, volume of people who visiting this mall is considerably less.

I have attended two seminars with John yesterday in KMDC Damansara. For the first seminar,Carol Yip was the host and she shared the topic of Making Your Money Work, for the second seminar, it was hosted by Sen Ze, the topic was Create Wealth Via The Internet. All the seminars were conducted in small classrooms. I enjoyed myself so much and find the interactive part with the participants was fun.

Topic of the seminars were surrounded by the ways of managing and creating money! Indeed, money is part of our life and it is important to manage it well to ensure our financial goals are being achieved. For majority people, managing money could be very challenging and many people find it very hard to practice it. So, what has gone wrong? Well, managing money could be easy if you have the " right ingredients"! Keep on learning new skills is one of the "secret recipes" to achieve the desire results.

Carol has shared many good and practical ideas with the participants, really benefited from her coaching! She encouraged us to have frugal living rather than just simply spend the money without proper management. Totally agree with her! However, it is hard to practice it since many temptations around.

In the seminar, Carol split us into groups, I was joining the group which all the members are still carrying the "single" status. We discussed the topic of retirement, and one group member of mine has caught my attention. He called Adrian Ng. He is the youngest in my group, around 20 years of age. He is a positive guy and I noticed that he has the passion to "discover" for more financial related knowledge! He is different in the sense that not many youngsters like him have such an attitude. To be honest, many of my friends who around 30s don't have such mindset of managing wealth, many of them still struggling with their financial position. Worth to mention him here! Wish him all the best!

We continued for the second seminar after a short lunch break. The second seminar was all about creating wealth through internet business. If you are thinking to start an Internet Business, I guess Sen Ze's Google Magic System is able to help you to create a bundle of wealth in this area. The seminar was interesting, Sen Ze has shared many techniques with us about how to become top search in Google when people looking for information. Sen Ze is going to organize a boot camp in April and he is going to share more information with those people who got serious about Internet Business. It roughly cost RM3900/pax. I am planning to attend it since internet is an up and coming new way of doing business!

Truly an Unforgettable Sunday!

Is been a while! I didn't meet up with my old friends since long time ago! Sunday was truly an unforgettable day! I met up with two different groups of friends for lunch and dinner.

In the afternoon, I went out with Ester, my ex-colleague from ORIX. She updated me with some latest developments in my ex-company. The stories were interesting and some even shocked me. Anyway, it is good to be updated! After lunch in a mamak stall, we decided to have a light chat in a cafe where located in Damansara Uptown, the cafe called Wonder Milk.

Wonder Milk is specializing in making cupcakes. The designs of the cupcakes are attractive and the cakes are very colourful. Esther and I tried two different types of cupcakes. To me, the cupcakes were just taste normal, just like an ordinary sponge cake with icing on top! Nothing special! And I also find the cakes are pricey!

Environment of the cafe is just okay, it separated into two areas, smoking area and non-smoking area! The shop is a little bit small and squeezy, not much privacy when having chat with friends! I still prefer Starbucks Coffee!

After the tea time session with Esther, I went straight to Centerpoint in Bandar Utama to meet up with my old friends for dinner! We settled down in a Thai food restaurant called Black Canyon! I feel so glad and excited to meet my friends' new born baby, he called Louis Tan! A very cute baby and he looks very adorable!

We really enjoyed our time there! Hope to have more gathering like this in the near future! ^^

My Christmas wish? Emm...I wish I could get a magic lamp like Aladdin's one! What? Magic lamp? Yeah...is magic lamp! Not a joke, but...I know this will never happen! Lols...this will only happen in the movie, right?

Yesterday, I visited Mid Valley City (MVC) with one of my close friends, really enjoyed my stay there! MVC is like a magic lamp, I guess, you could get almost everything you wish to get in the mall. The place is decorated with a Christmas theme, many mini stalls have been set up in the center court which selling Christmas related products like candies, greetings cards, and many more.

We took some pictures there and she has requested me to post up the photos here in my blog! Yeah sure...let me share our joy here!

Let's share our love with the "little" ones!

Do you love to keep a pet? Keeping a dog or a cat is an enjoyable experience. Dogs have been known as man's best friend for long. Cats are adorable which always make people feel like keeping an "art" piece at home. Anyway, raising a pet is like having a kid, need a lot of attentions and commitments. When one decided to keep a pet, there are whole lots more to consider. Keeping a pet is a big responsibility and can be even costly when factor in the cost of food, trips to the vet, medical expenses, and grooming materials. For the hardship, it is a well worth experience, for the love, loyalty, trust, and companionship of a pet who love you unconditionally.

If keeping a pet is such a "priceless" experience, why many "victims" have abandoned? Is pet a "live" toy? Or purely for entertainment purpose for some cruel pet keepers? Last year, my friends and I visited a non-profit organisation in Ampang Jaya, and I must mention this organisation here as I think they are doing a very good job in protecting animal welfare. This organisation called SPCA - Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Their contributions and efforts are definitely make Kuala Lumpur a better place.

SPCA founded in 1958. It is an animal welfare organisation. The aim of the SPCA is to protect defenseless animals and to alleviate their suffering. According to information given in SPCA's website, they receive more than 700 unwanted, homeless or abused animals every month. They provide an adoption program, investigation of cruelty reports, humane education, assistance to community animal caregivers and run a dedicated, low-cost spay/ neuter clinic. Over the years, the organisation has gained tremendous goodwill, recognition and support from animal lovers all over Malaysia.

There are many ways to support SPCA to operate under a smooth environment, it can be either through donation and/or become a volunteer at the animal shelter. If you love to keep a pet, you may adopt one from SPCA. However, there are few questions to be answered before any adoption take place, and procedures need to be followed. People are welcome to visit the animal shelter and the place is easy to reach where just located nearby the KL city center.

Re-discover Kuala Lumpur.

Kualu Lumpur (KL) is a fabulous city and there are many things to explore! From shopping, extreme sports, clubbing, concerts, to visit heritage sites, KL has it all to offer in one city! KL is the capital city of Malaysia and definitely the economic and financial center of the country. For many people, KL is a "goldmine"! Like businessmen, people who employed here, or international fund managers who want to raise fund for big projects, this city is the best place for them to "dig" gold.

Majority people come here mainly for business and job opportunities, thats common! Many people who stay near by KL, from the neighbor cities and towns, they moved here just because of this reason. I have discovered something interesting which was many people who migrated here for long and called KL as their home did not know much about KL's background, surprisingly, they only recognized a few great architectures in the city - shopping malls! They are barely know about the history of KL and its establishment, even for the locals (those who born and grew up in KL city), many of them just like the "new immigrants".

Let us re-discover the development of KL with a brief history here. Back to year 1857, KL is founded by tin miners and became a staging point for the trading of tin. Many Chinese labourers were hired to open new tin miners. KL had faced many challenges at that time, including the Selangor Civil War. Around year 1868, Yap Ah Loy was the Kapitan Cina (Chinese Captain) and is considered the founder of KL. He contributed significantly to the development of the city.

In 1882, Frank Swettenham is appointed as Resident of Selangor. In 1896, KL is declared capital of the Federated Malay States by the British. Along the way, KL has gone through many developments. In 31st August of 1957, Malaysia becomes an independent nation and KL is made the capital of Malaysia. KL is accorded city status in 1972.

With great efforts contribute by the people, KL has transformed from merely a muddy field to what it is today! KL is a unique city and definitely can't find its uniqueness elsewhere. Most of the people here are able to speak at least two languages and some even speak more than two languages (we are talented, right?). Some say KL is like a "mini" Asia, variety of food is endless, choose from Malay, Chinese, Indian, Nonya, and Vietnamese food, as well as international cuisines, can find almost everything in this vibrant city .

The well built infrastructures like Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), the railway system in the city (LRT & monorail), and the bus connections have make KL becomes one of the best cities for business, work, and leisure in the Southeast Asia region (some say the transportation system is not good enough, yeah, nothing is perfect but it definitely helps us to connect with each other in the city well). KL is a good place for education too, from primary schools to the world standard universities are all here in the city!

KL is a lovely place for everything. A hub for all the people who come from different places to exchange ideas.

Traveling Back In Time with KTM Train! A Memorable Journey...

Life is full of excitements, isn't it? It is easy to identify if one enjoy every moment of his life! I love traveling and I found many excitements in "it". You love traveling?

I travel frequently within Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh as I have businesses in these two cities. Usually, I will drive, but this round I decided to travel by train. Yeah, is Curiosity, it encouraged me to search for new "excitements"! Perhaps, I already get bored of driving alone for such a long distance journey in the freeway!

To be honest, I never tried the train service before as it takes longer traveling time, it is one of my major considerations! Time is a matter for businessmen, like me. Self-driving is definitely offering more flexibility (in terms of time saving) and more pleasurable. This round was special as I had "granted" myself a day break to try the service! Haha...I can't deny that I wanted to do something different, so I gave an excuse for myself to have a change in the daily routine.

The train was like an "ancient" sleeping beauty, and was pleasantly forgotten by many "modern" people who live in the cities, taking train was definitely not the primary choice of transportation for many people in Malaysia. People love to take bus mainly because of the frequency of the services and it is affordable. And now, even better, low-cost flight carriers are offering great services with good prices for people who are looking for a bargain. But still, some of the "occasional" local tourists like me who in search for new "excitements", train is definitely the better choice of all.

My train journey was pleasurable. It departed from the Sentral Kuala Lumpur Station (the new and official central train station in Kuala Lumpur since 2001) slightly on time. Way before this, the train was originally departed from the Kuala Lumpur Railway Station (a colonial-era landmark). This station is definitely a "must-visit" destination for people who are in deep love with heritage and cultural site. Now, it only opens its door for commuter train services within Klang Valley.

I really felt fortunate that KTM still operates the train services within the Peninsula Malaysia. The trains are powered by diesel locomotive. The moving speed of the KTM train was comparatively slow, low speed of the train has made other modes of transportation more competitive, but it certainly brought back the feeling of the good old days to me. The KTM railway system was first built to transport tin during the British colonial-era, and gradually turned to carry patrons between stops serving cities, towns, and villages in Peninsula Malaysia. For those people who originated from small towns (e.g. Kampar and Tapah) and working in KL, train will be the best choice for traveling since the ticket is affordable.

The cost of spending on a one-way train ticket from KL to Ipoh was cheap, only RM22 (about USD$6.5) for a second class air-conditioned seat, for economic class, it cost even cheaper, only RM12 (USD$3.50) for a seat. I chose to enjoy my journey in a second class cabin as there was no first class cabin service for this route!

The train journey takes about 4 hours. To pass my time in the train meaningfully, I brought along my "good friend" on board, it called "Book"! Recently, I bought a very interesting book in MPH book store, it called A Fortune-Teller Told Me by Tiziano Terzani. I bought this book by chance while I glanced through the traveling books shelf. The title of the book caught my attention and created some interest to get to know more about it. I gave it a chance and I studied the synopsis (what a good book, I told myself!). I decided to bring it home.

An interesting book that I read during my journey! A Fortune-Teller Told Me by Tiziano Terzani.

Please allow me to tell you a little bit more about the book since it was part of my memorable train journey. The book author, Terzani, was born in Florence, Italy. He lived in Asia for more than thirty years since he decided to stay in Singapore as a reporter in 1971. For all his books, perhaps, 'A Fortune-Teller Told Me' was his most well-known book. He described his travels across Asia by land and sea following the advice and warning from a fortune teller in Hong Kong that he avoid airplanes for a year. A fascinating book that I had ever read!

"Book" has made me felt embarrassed in the train but it was unforgettable. I laughed out loud in the train while I was reading the stories. It was chapter twelve, which Terzani mentioned his experiences in Singapore, the title of the chapter was An Air-Conditional Island. I felt so bad as I shocked the girl who sat beside me. She certainly felt surprised about my expression (Sorry to the girl, please accept my apology, I don't mean it!). The story of the chapter was so funny and I lost control fully of my emotion. What was the funny thing I read in the book? Sure thing, let me share "the joke" with you here.

Terzani was in Singapore in 1965. It was his first visit there! He loved Singapore and the place made him feel at home. In 1971 he decided to settle down in Singapore. He felt many things had changed and he wanted to revisit his "first love - Singapore" again by himself (although he had friends there). He hopped on to a taxi which many foreign tourists will do to discover the island. He felt very annoying as the taxi driver was keep on asking him questions. He controlled his patience well at that time. But not the second time. He "fight" back. He met the same incident again. He became more aggressive.

'Are you going to dinner?'
'No.'
'What country are you from?'
'Africa.'
'How? You're white!'
'There are whites in Africa.'
'What do you do for a living?'
'I murdered taxi drivers who ask too many questions.'

Oh, what the hilarious part! Really funny! Indeed, Terzani didn't know that a campaign of courtesy had launched, locals need to be friendly with tourists! But anyway, he felt a bit irritated!

Time flies. I nearly finish reading the book. I decided to take a break to enjoy the moment in the train. With a non-stop changing backdrop, I got a chance to see the stunning views of unblocked scenery of mountains, palm plantations, tin mining fields, vegetable farms, villages, and beautiful bright sunshine.

I saw a few passengers boarded the train at the Kampar railway station. I realized that Ipoh main railway station was approaching and people tried to make noise and some people were start waking up from their sweet dreams.

Epilogue: I love traveling very much and definitely love to share the joy with my friends. Time flies, really! A new year is approaching us and we are going to say good bye to Year 2009 soon! We have less than 60 days to "wrap-up" all the things we "need" to do before we say hello to Year 2010.

Oh yeah, before we say hello to year 2010, have you achieved your yearly target? Yes? No? Or just "walk-through" the year without achieving anything? Anyway, I wish all my friends and relatives have a wonderful year! There are still some time left if you need some extra "budget" to work on your plan before year 2009 disappear in this world.

Year 2009 is a "rocky" year for many people, included me! My beloved father has left us (my family and I) behind at the beginning of this year, it was painful! Life still need to move on, right? I used very short time to recover from the "pain" and got back to the reality ---> which was work and earn money to sustain my life! Really a challenging year for me! Plenty of stuffs to resolve included the business which left behind by my father! To be frank, I never participate in my father's business as my father has a "dictator" character when come to business. I knew nothing about the business! Thats the toughest part of all! I need to learn the business from all the people who "in the picture"! It is tough, and I am still learning it! No joke! I don't have a choice as I am the named successor of my father business! I will definitely fulfill this mission and I want to break through whatever my dad has achieved when he was in the business. As life is phenomenal and it is a magnificent trip.

I have learnt many things in year 2009, and I have achieved nearly 99.9% of my target that I have set at the beginning of this year! I wish you have a wonderful year and do better in year 2010!

A Dreamer! A Discoverer! An Explorer! Names to describe someone has burning desire to discover the world? Yeah...may be!

Is the sense of curiosity to keep one discovering the world! You could ask a stranger who walking down the street about the desire of traveling around the world, I can bet 99.99% will answer the question passionately with a "yes"! Oh really? Don't believe? Let's ask!

What really drive them? I guess every individual has a fair bit of curiosity and desire to learn new things, and traveling is able to provide marvelous opportunities for fun, adventure, and discovery. That is why many low cost carriers have gained tremendous percentage of market share lately with the brilliant idea of flying with limited budget. Air Asia of Malaysia has done it so well and make peoples' dreams come through!

My friends and I spent 3 days in Cameron Highland, Malaysia! Happiness, something money can't buy! :)

Lately, I am falling in love with photography. Sharing stories through the lens is like crafting an art-piece, so much fun and patience to craft one! Not an easy task though! To improve my skill, I attended a photography class with my friends in Nikonian Academy. It was great and certainly learnt the skills to tell a story through the lens! Amazing!

I also learnt many photo tips and techniques from Kodak website. It is really an informative guide for photography.

A Fun Day in Nikonian Academy!

Alice, Ray, and I attended the B2I (Basic to Intermediate) Photography course in Nikonian Academy on the 3rd of October 09. This training center located in Kota Damansara! It was fun, we met a new friend there, he called Derrick! He is a fun guy and been using Canon DSLR camera since one year ago! You might be surprised, how can a Canon camera user was able to join the class in Nikonian Academy! Indeed, Nikonian Academy is a "border-less" world! As long as you are a DSLR camera user, you are welcome to join this "Beyond Photography" world!

Our trainers called Andrew and Alex, and our gorgeous model called Sharon! We learnt many techniques to do photo shooting and ways to handle exposure! Really an amazing experience!

Hope you like them all. ^-^ One of my unforgettable moments in New Zealand was the helicopter ride to Fox Glacier. It was a wonderful ride! I never had a chance to ride on a helicopter until I visit Fox Glacier.

Beautiful, stunning, and magnificent are all words that I can think of to describe the natural beauty of Fox Glacier. If you like to witness the "true" beauty of Fox Glacier, it is a "must" to get on a helicopter to experience the view by yourself. You will never regret, I promise!

Up to the glacier, the weather was not that cold, indeed! May be the location of the glacier is right under the sun, the only part of my body felt cold was my legs! The glacier was full of ice, hard to move around there!

The helicopter ride cost NZD240 for 20 minutes per person (about RM620 or USD172). Although the price of the trip was little bit pricey, it is worthwhile to have a try. Some of my tour mates find it expensive, so they chose to stay at the bottom of the glacier to see the "different" side of Fox Glacier.

Whatever it takes, this "Fox" is welcoming your visit! ^_^

Sheep were "partying" on the Freeway in New Zealand? Hahaha...it sounds a little bit weird when you see this tittle, right?

Two weeks ago, I have posted two photos in my blog, something that made me feel excited in New Zealand!

I have asked those who visited my blog to guess the activity which carried out by the man! Many of them never leave the answer in my blog! Is okay, let me share my excitement in New Zealand here!

It is very rare to see the sheep farmers shift their livestocks from one place to another! It is a tough job for them to carry out, especially the farms located next to the freeways. You might ask why the farmers need to do that since it is a tough job! The answer is very simple, due to the original place where the sheep station has run out of grasses, the farmers got no choice but to move them to another place in order to keep the sheep "alive"!

I have never seen this in my life before! The freeway was full of sheep! Is like the sheep treating the freeway as a place to "party", hundred of them just freeing themselves on the road!

According to the tour guide, it is very normal for sheep farmers to carry out such an activity in a big field but very rare to see this happen on the freeway! It is a tough job, farmers are hard to control the situation! Dogs may be the only "weapon" for them to use in order to carry out such an activity!

An Essential Link - Homer Tunnel, New Zealand.

Homer Tunnel is an essential underground passageway links Milford Sound to Te Anau andQueenstown. It is hard to reach Milford Sound if the Homer Tunnel does not exist. Thanks to William H. Homer discovered the Homer Saddle on 27th Jan 1889. The Encyclopaedia of New Zealand has more information about the history of Homer Tunnel.

Truly, it was an amazing experience passing through the Homer Tunnel. The tunnel is straight and contains only one lane. No lamp installed in the Tunnel until year 2004. It is extremely dangerous when driving in the tunnel. Tourists on self-drive package must take extra care due to lack of real-life experiences driving in such dim environment.

As Homer Tunnel is situated in the wet region, it gets rain most of the time throughout the year. During winter time, snow amount is comparatively higher than any other region. This has made the driving environment even more changeling.

To visit Milford Sound, weather condition has became the major consideration during winter season since Homer Tunnel is the only road passageway. My family and I were so fortunate to get a chance to visit Milford Sound few weeks back. The tunnel had forced to close due to large amount of snow before we arrived in the Fiordland region.

During winter, snow diggers were easily be seen outside of the Homer Tunnel entrance. This is to ensure the road safety and traffic move smoothly in the region. Without this link, I believe the great scenery of Milford Sound is hard to be seen. Thanks...snow diggers!

It was a great pleasure to visit Milford Sound! The natural sceneries are simply breathtaking.

Milford Sound is a world renowned natural wonder. It is located within Fiordland National Parkand Te Wahipounamu World Heritage site. It is a top tourist spot for most of the visitors travelling to South Island in New Zealand.

Allow me tell you more about Milford Sound. There are two different history versions of Milford Sound, namely the Maori and European History version.

Maori History and Legend - Based on the information printed on the visitor information guide, Milford Sound (Piopiotahi) is thought to have been discovered by iwi Maori more than 1000 years ago. One of the legends suggests that Piopiotahi was a canoe that visited the shores of Milford Sound to procure takiwai (a type of greenstone). Another suggest that Piopiotahi was the name of a pet bird belonging to the demi-god Maui Tikitiki-a-Taranga who visited the southern waters around Fiordland.

Really an interesting history about the Maori version. Oh, what about the European version? Sure, let me tell you more about it.

European History - In 1770, many European explorers overlooked Milford Sound while exploring the rugged coastline, because of its narrow entry and uncertain climate conditions had scared many explorers away to enter the sound. Ship captains like James Cook had bypassed the place due to the reasons.

The first Europeans to discover Milford were possibly a group of early sealers who operated along the coast line from 1793 onwards. A well-known sealer, Captain John Grono, who was born near Milford Haven in Wales, is thought to have named the Sound some time between 1809 and 1823.

Wouldn't it be great if you discover this beautiful "sound" by yourself? High mountains, waterfalls, clear sky, nice weather, and experienced tour guide had made my journey somehow unforgettable. Other than nice scenery, there are so lot more to see! In Milford Sound, you got a chance to see wildlife, like New Zealand fur seals, Fiordland Crested Penguins, Blue Penguins, and Bottlenose Dolphins.

The Mirror Lakes, New Zealand.

The Mirror Lakes is a gorgeous place to make beautiful pictures. It is located in the South Island of New Zealand. Is a "must" visit destination while touring the kiwi island. The lake is also called Lake Matheson, not far away from Fox Glacier, another magnificent place to visit.

The best time to visit The Mirror Lakes is Summer. It always rain during the winter time indeed. To be frank, the rain really disturbed the mood of mine while traveling there!

I will visit the Lake again in the near future! I have more pictures and traveling experiences to share here, stay tune! ^^

I have promised my dad to ensure my mum will live happily after his "migration". I will keep this promise forever and ensure everything goes well to her. That's for sure!

Recently, I brought my mum to visit my sister in Melbourne and we had a short trip to South Island of New Zealand! The trip was pleasant and we enjoyed it so much! Although the weather was cold and dry but the "moment" kept us warm and unforgettable.

New Zealand is a great country to visit. We visited a few cities in New Zealand, namely Christchurch, Dunedin, Queenstown, Oomaru, etc. Out of all the cities, Queenstown is my favourite destination in South Island of NZ. Queenstown is a spectacular city. Skiing, mountain climbing, jet boating, dining, and so much to do. Simply a great place to visit. May be, visit Queenstown is the only reason to make me go back to New Zealand.

I love dessert, cheese cake is one of my favourites. I love to do investment, that's my hobby. To become a succesful financial planner, is my dream!

But, how these two thingies are related to each other? read on.....

My sister makes good cheese cakes. I love her "craft" very much. Before I discover her "secret recipe" of making a cheese cake, I thought it is hard to make one, indeed it is not. Making a cheese cake is easy, she told me. "Patience" is the most crucial ingredient.

She gave me her recipe to make a cheese cake (me interested to eat rather than making one...lols). If you are interested to learn more, Delicious Food's Recipes has the details.

Time and patience are important to make cheese cake. I still remember...that night...my sister, she "hide" herself in the kitchen quietly, nobody knows she was there, except my Indonesian maid, she helped my sister to crunch the biscuit for the cheese cake base. After an hour, I noticed her shadow "sneaked" out from the kitchen, and I noticed she stored something in the fridge. I didn't check it out cause kitchen simply not my "paradise".

Next day, she continued her "secret" action in the kitchen. This round, curiousity made me stepped in the kitchen. My sister didn't notice I was there until she poured the melted cheese into the cake tin. Hey sis, what are you doing here? I asked. Cheese cake, don't you see that? She replied. Not really, until this moment jie! I replied her like a small boy.

Can you imagine...just a small cheese cake, need two days to complete. When come to investment, for this serious thingy, longer time and patience are needed. Now, do you see their common ingredients?

Investment is like crafting an art. Money, time, and patience are the must ingredients, market knowledge and information are important too. But not many people have the latter, so what can they do? May be can seek an investment company to get some advises.

More ingredients are needed to make a piece of "investment cheese cake":-

2) find a financial adviser to evaluate your risk profile

3) evaluate your financial position (e.g. debts, savings)

Unforgettable Night @ Soho KL!

I have been waited for my promotion since I became full time agent four months back in August. Finally, my dream has come through (indeed I worked very hard for that). I got promoted as Agency Supervisor at the beginning of this month. Ah ma (my Agency Manager), she called Eugenie Tan, brought me and Ray (my buddy + colleague in Public Mutual) to have buffet dinner @ Soho KL to celebrate my promotion (thanks Ah Ma for the treat). The restaurant called Tenji Japanese Buffet.

Before the dinner started, Ray and I chilled out in a cafe called Dessert's Bar (opposite Tenji) - while waiting for Ah ma to arrive. Ray had a cup of Grapes Smoothie and I tried the Orange Smoothie. The design of this cafe is simple but practical, a good place to enjoy after work.

About 6.30pm, our dinner started. Ah ma came a bit late. Originally, KayWin (my the other buddy in Public Mutual) and Alice were joining us for dinner. For KayWin, due to his trip to India thus can't joined us for dinner. Whereas for Alice, I believe she was busy with her job so can't joined us for dinner as well.

Ray and I started to scout around after the crew brought us to our designated table. The interior design of this restaurant is stunning, simply got the "Grand" feeling while stepped in the lobby of the restaurant. Customers will get a chance to see the view of KLCC while walking to the dining place.

There were many varieties of food, included the wide selection of Japanese, Chinese, and Western cuisines. Sashimi and fresh oysters became our "targets"! We also tried some of the hot food.

Besides the food menu, there were plenty of drinks to choose, for example, fresh-brewed coffee, hot teas, and carbonated beverages. For alcohol lovers, you need to make special order for yourself since the cover charge is not included wine and beer.

The desserts corner had enriched our dining experience at Tenji. It offered the best desserts selections of it class. There were plenty of delightful desserts to choose, out of all, Haagen-Dazs ice-cream was my favourite.

We really enjoyed our night at Tenji. Great people, great place, and great gourmet had made the night unforgettable. Ray got me a Starbucks Coffee's 10th Anniversary in Malaysia Special Planner for me as a gift for my promotion (thanks bro!). I forced Ah ma and Ray to write some words in my planner for remembrance.

The Night of 171208 @ Kim Gary, The Curve.

Yesterday night was great! Alice, Ray, and I met at The Curve and decided to have dinner @ Kim Gary. It was like a pre-celebration "party" for Christmas.

I like Kim Gary's baked cheese rice very much. I find it very delicious as compared with others HongKong style restaurants in town. ^-^

Alice and I ordered the similar baked cheese rice set. Ray ordered the spaghetti set. Originally, Ray wanted to order the same food with us, due to skin allergy, he cancelled the idea and "forced" to eat the spaghetti set.

After dinner, we went to A-Look to collect my new glasses. I look a little bit "mature" (not older ya!) now with the new glasses. Alice commented my "look" even more "kuai chai" (good boy) then last time! ^-^

Right after that, we went straight to The Coffee Bean for a lite chat and Alice shared some of her ideas of blogging. Ray didn't talk much at that session as he felt extremely tired after the whole day "rushing".

We went home around 10 plus.

Year 2009 is just around the corner and is time to do some planning for next year!

Today, Eugenie, Ray and myself were having a discussion on goals setting in Starbucks Coffee, The Gardens. We foresee that year 2009 will be another good year for investment since global markets retreat on U.S sub-prime concerns this year!

We have set a resonable target for ourself and aiming to become a qualifier for our company's challenge trip to Dubai next year!

Was it a shock?

Many of my friends got a shock when I told them I started blogging and many questions popped out! To be frank, I didn't have any intention to start a blog until a friend of mine encouraged me to do so. She called Alice Teh. She has a blog too - www.aliceteh.com. She gave me many advises and ideas to start blogging. She sent me an ebook via Facebook inbox message, it was all about the benefits of having a blog.

She quoted a message from the ebook:

"If you care about your personal brand and career and impact, you need a blog. And you should start the cycle of getting better at blogging.”

Little Story about Jumbo Wing.

After telling you the story of my nickname - Jumbo Wing, I think is time to tell you more about myself. I was born in Ipoh, the capital city of Perak state in Malaysia. I am the youngest child of my parents. I have 4 sisters and 1 brother. They are all abroad except my eldest sister and me. Currently, I am staying in Kuala Lumpur due to my job. I am a Financial Consultant, representing Public Mutual Bhd (PMB). Prior to this job, I was employed by a Japanese Leasing House as a marketing executive. I have gained many knowledge and experiences from my previous job. After three years service with my previous company, I have decided to have some "fresh air", thus joined PMB. On one hand, this job provides me an opportunity to gain better income, on the other hand, it allows me to have more time for myself (unlike the 9 to 5 working hours). Isn't it great? Now, I have more time to do my own things, like blogging, reading, traveling, networking, playing badminton, and of course, have more quality time to spend with my family (something money can't buy). (^-^)

I am a cheerful guy and have great passion to learn new things. I believe learning is a life long business. There is no end for learning. To upgrade myself, I have decided to take up a professional course - Certified Financial Planner (CFP) in 2007. On top of learning new knowledge, I have a chance to meet new people in the class. This also provided me a chance to broaden my social network. What a great experience!

I have many hobbies. Particularly, reading and traveling are my favourite hobbies. What books I read? Many, range from biography, motivational, business & finance, travel & living, to outdoors & nature. Brian Tracy is one of my favourite authors. I love his books. I have gained many ideas from his books. The introduction of "The Day My Life Changed" in his book - Goals! has inspired me a lot and I got serious about success. I strongly believe reading enable you to become a better person. The more you read, the more you understand, more knowledge you learnt, more sophisticated you are.

Traveling is my hobby too. 古语说道："读万卷书，行万里路"! This statement means, in order to become a knowledgeable person, apart from reading more books, traveling around to gain live experiences are essential too. To be frank, I am lucky enough. I have visited many countries when I was young. Thanks to my dad! Traveling provides tremendous opportunity for fun, adventure, and discovery. It helps to enrich my live. It increases my knowledge and widens my perspective. Traveling is refreshing and revitalizing too. It helps me to release my stress and recharge my battery and enable me to handle the stress that experienced at work. Thats why I love traveling so much beside reading!

Many people asked me why I named myself Jumbo Wing as they found my nickname a little bit funny and indeed, the name does not tie with my physical look! Oh yeah, I agree with them. I am not big in size. Then why Jumbo? The answer is simple. If you read it in Cantonese, it is pronounced as "zhen bo - 珍宝", which means "treasure"! Let me tell you more about my name. My actual name is Koh Wing Cheong - 高詠祥. People start calling me Wing when I was studying the Canadian Pre-University in Taylor's College Subang Jaya. However, some people will call me by my full given name "Wing Cheong" due to the culture in Malaysia! To enable people to remember my name easier, I would prefer to be called Wing, rather than Wing Cheong, Koh, or Jumbo! ^-^
